description
Marisa and Marquis decided to tie the knot in Jamaica. They reached out to me for a fully personalized design, not holding back on the luxe vibes. Marisa described her vision to me as “white lotus meets old world sophistication with a huge emphasis on the culture of Jamaica.” Her family is originally from Jamaica so it holds a special place in her heart she knew the impact the attention to detail would have on her family upon receiving their invites. We decided to take a colorful, vibrant approach to capture the essence of Jamaica and further personalize all the things with a custom monogram as a starting point and from there, the ideas just kept flowing. See the magic below!
custom monogram
A great starting point for an elevated wedding is a custom monogram, like Marisa and Marquis. Using their first initials and taking a modern approach to the stylized letters, Stephanie set the tone for the rest of the design to follow suit.
what’s included
invitation suite
The primary goal of this stationery suite was to capture the beauty of Jamaica, so a full page map design of the entire island inside the gatefold was the obvious choice. On the cover Stephanie painted native motifs for a personalized pattern. We sealed the gatefold with the monogram wax steal stamp. The oval was chosen for both the invitation, details card and the wax seal to play with shapes and color in a way that felt fresh and exciting for this truly unique wedding.
what’s included
letterpress printing
When a couple expresses the desire to elevate their stationery to truly convey that their wedding will be an elevated experience, maybe a black tie affair, Stephanie recommends adding at least one letterpress printed element. For the Jamaica suite, the couple opted for both a monochromatic letterpress printed invitation card and details card. The designs were chosen to compliment but not compete with all the watercolor artwork from the gatefold . More examples of both can be seen below.
